Synthesis Test and Spelling ... again

Tomorrow, we will be having our:

1. Synthesis Test. Please revise all the synthesis exercises that we have done (P5 and P6).
2. Spelling from the 2013 Additional Words and  Phrases list (Line 7). Out of the 14, I will choose 10.

Synthesis Test and Spelling

• There will be a Synthesis test tomorrow. Please revise your direct and indirect speech worksheets.
• Also, today's Spelling for T1W6 has been brought forward to tomorrow.

We'll be doing these, tomorrow:

1. Continuous Writing 3. Bring along your CW 'stuff'.
2. Spelling for Unit 3.

We also did filing of worksheets today, so for those who have yet to include the necessary worksheets, please them along tomorrow and file them up.

Another Double IF for you to try!

Mr Lim sells green and red pens. If he sells 32 green pens per day and 16 red pens per day, he will have 144 green pens left when all the red pens are sold. If he sells 12 green pens per day and 24 red pens per day, he will have 432 green pens left when all the red pens are sold. How much money will Mr Lim collect from the sale of all  the red pens if each pen cost $1.20?

Misconceptions when solving 'Fractions of' questions

Hi pupils!
Some of you are having problems solving word problems involving 'what fraction of A is B' or 'express A as a fraction of B'.

I have attached a short video highlighting the misconception for revision purposes. I have already explained this in class several times.

Do look at it again if you are not too sure. You can pause the video at any time so that you can read it slowly to understand it better.

If Alan spends $45 each day and Bala spends $15 each day,  Alan will have $120 left by the time Bala spends all his money.
If Bala spends $45 each day and Alan spends $15 each day, Alan will have $840 by the time Bala spends all his money.
