  3. 9) Whole crews were sometimes hanged in the public. In England, the most notorious pirates were hanged and then their bodies were covered in tar and hung publicly in an iron cage, where thy slowly rotted away.
    15)Although a famous pirate punishment, this is probably a myth.

  5. A website said that "walking the plank"might not be a real punishment used by pirates,it was true in stories but not many evidence showed that it was really true in real life. :p
